T-Mobile Big Dance Countdown / Greatest FLASHMOB
The T-Mobile Big Dance is London's Legacy Trust UK programme led by the Greater London Authority in partnership with Arts Council England and supported by major organisations including: Sport England, NHS London, London Councils, Museums, Libraries & Archives, London and the British Council. Big Dance, originated by the Mayor of London in 2006 in partnership with Arts Council England, is the world's biggest and most influential dance initiative and is delivered through a network of London's leading dance organisations: East London Dance, English National Ballet, Greenwich Dance Agency, Sadler's Wells and Siobhan Davies Dance.
Plans for Big Dance 2010 are underway with many amazing projects emerging as the London-wide celebration of dance returns with nine days of extraordinary dance events. As the countdown towards 3-11 July 2010 begins, we' d like to remind you how to get involved in the programme.
Planning an event?
If you’re planning to run a Big Dance event you can register it at www.bigdance2010.com and join the central mailing list. You can also contact your local Big Dance Hub, details below, who will be leading the programmes locally and be able to advise you on how to promote your event.
Schools Pledge
As part of Big Dance week, the Big Dance Schools Pledge will take place in schools across the world from 5-9 July 2010.The pledge is an invitation for schools to offer an extra 20 minutes of dance or physical activity each day. In addition to this, there is a call to all schools worldwide to perform the Schools Pledge dance routine at 1pm on Friday 9 July as part of a Guinness World Record attempt. Schools can sign-up to the Pledge by completing the Schools Pledge registration form. The choreography is available to download from the Big Dance 2010 website .
